Code of Ethics

The Association's Code of Ethics is crucial to its mission. All Members of this Association shall agree to observe and be bound by the following Code of Ethics:

 

a. Members shall constantly seek to provide better value, so that an even greater share of people may enjoy the benefits of home ownership.

b. Members shall support in advance Housing First Minnesota's mission of fulfilling the dream of home ownership for all Minnesotans. Central to this mission is supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Housing First Minnesota and its Members value inclusiveness and strive to consider the unique perspectives of persons from varying backgrounds and experiences.

c.  Members shall strive to increase the productivity and efficiency of the building industry to the end that labor may receive its just and proper reward.

d. Members shall, at all times, contribute their knowledge in building to the best interests of those they serve.

e.  Members shall not knowingly enter into any contract wherein the terms if which are designed to imperil the rights of either labor or the supplier of materials to receive a fair return for services or goods furnished.

f. Members shall not obtain any business by means of fraudulent or deceptive statements or by the use of implications unwarranted by fact or reasonable probability.

g. Members shall comply both in spirit and letter with rules and regulations prescribed by law and government agencies for the health, safety and welfare of workers, consumers and the community.

h. Members shall contribute their time and energy as individual citizens with particular expertise to study existing and proposed local and state laws and regulations, to propose thoughtful reforms, and to educate the public to assist lawmakers in the preparation of new and revised legislation.

i. Members shall not perform, or cause to be performed, any act which would tend to negatively reflect on, or bring into disrepute, any part of the building industry.

j. Members shall help to educate the public and shall speak out as individual citizens on issues affecting housing quality and affordability.
