This course will address the substantial changes from the 2012 through the 2018 International Residential Code (IRC). Included will be the current 2012 language and changes to the 2015 IRC which is integrated into the 2018 IRC as well as MN amendments. Changes will be formatted into an easy side-by-side comparison of the current code and the new code, as well as commentary to assist in the informational process. 


Learning Objectives:

  • Have a firm grasp of new language and technical requirements
  • Recognize and understand purpose and intent of 2018 IRC and the Minnesota amendments
  • Explain the differences between the current and previous editions
  • Analyze, recognize, and apply the provisions of the 2018 IRC as it relates to design and construction
  • Adapt to the provisions of the code and take advantage of new options that are incorporated into the document
